State Laws and State Court Decisions

This page contains links to two of the free on-line directories of state law resources, including state constitutions, state statutes, and state court opinions. Simply go to either of these on-line directories and locate the state you wish to research and then the specific type of state law you would like to research.

The New York Slip Opinion Service provides access to Recently Released Decisions prior to publication in the Official Reports, together with an electronic citation for each decision. The New York State Law Reporting Bureau, under the direction of a State Reporter appointed by the New York State Court of Appeals, edits and prepares for publication all of the decisions of the Court of Appeals and the Appellate Division as well as selected decisions of the trial-level courts.

FindLaw: State Resources provides access to a wide range of state law resources, including state constitutions, state statutes, state court opinions, and state law resources.

The State Court Locator is a service provided for by the Villanova University School of Law and provides links to state court opinions and other resources.

Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute mission is to carry out applied research on the use of digital information technology in the distribution of legal information, the delivery of legal education, and the practice of law.
