Scholarships

The scholarship application deadline was September 15, 2006 and the application process is now suspended while we review all submitted scholarship applications. Preference will be given to applications filed on or before September 15, 2006. Scholarship recipients will be notified by October 6, 2006.

Statement of Need

Please submit with your application a separate Statement of Need (3500 characters max or one single sided page). Your Statement of Need should explain:

  • Why you need this scholarship
  • Your experience working with, or interest in working with victims of crime in Indian Country
  • How you will utilize the information from the conference in your community.

Priority given to:

  • Victims of Crime
  • Tribal Child Protection Teams
  • Tribal Child Protection Multi-Disciplinary Teams
  • Service Providers
  • Tribal Law Enforcement
  • Tribal Court Personnel
  • Tribal Youth
  • Tribal Elders

OVC Grantee Funding

If your Tribe is an OVC Grantee, please explain on a separate page why your OVC grant cannot fund your travel expenses.

The Native American Children's Alliance (NACA) is an intertribal, cross-mentoring organization whose mission is to inspire and support the development, growth, and maintenance of multi-disciplinary teams and Children's Advocacy Centers in Native American and Alaska Native communties in their efforts to address child abuse. NACA was formed in April of 1999 and held it's first formal meeting on September 26, 1999 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
