Continuing Education Credit

Continuing education for the 14th National Indian Nations Conference is sponsored by The Institute for Continuing Education. Credit is awarded on a session-by-session basis, with full attendance required for the sessions attended. The continuing education processing fee is $25.00 and may be included with the registration fee by checking the appropriate box. The program offers a total of 21.00 contact hours.
 

Hours per day are: December 10th 6 hours; December 11th 6 hours; December 12th 6 hours; December 12th 3 hours. CE verification is mailed to CE applicants approximately 3-4 weeks following the Conference event.
 

Who Should Attend: Psychologists, social workers, counselors, marriage/family therapists, drug-alcohol counselors, mental health professionals, nurses, attorneys, Native American advocates, and all allied health professionals who work with Native Americans.
 

Skills Level: Scheduled sessions are open to all Conference registrants. Sessions have not been ranked according to skill level, due to the interdisciplinary nature of this event. Registrants are urged to review the program descriptions to determine appropriateness for personal and professional goals.
 

Non-Credit Sessions: Continuing education credit is not offered for breakfast, luncheon, dinner, reception events; poster sessions, board meetings, networking sessions, and/or advocacy meetings. Counseling
The Institute for Continuing Education is an NBCC approved continuing education provider (ACEP ™) and co-sponsor of this event. The Institute for Continuing Education may award NBCC approved clock hours for events or programs that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP maintains responsibility for this program and its content. NBCC Provider No. 5643.

 

Social Work
The Institute for Continuing Education is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association for Social Work Boards (ASWB), through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) 1007. Licensed social workers should contact their individual state jurisdiction to review current continuing education requirements for license renewal.

Marriage Family Therapy
The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized as a provider of continuing education by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, Provider No. PCE 636.

 

Drug-Alcohol
The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) to provide continuing education for alcohol and drug abuse counselors. NAADAC Provider No. 00243.

 

Nursing
The Institute for Continuing Education is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the California Board of Nursing, Provider No. CEP 12646.

 

Law Enforcement
Law enforcement professionals who make application for continuing education will receive verification of contact hours earned in Conference participation, which may not be submitted to their POST. It is the responsibility of law enforcement professionals to check with their POST to determine if such documentation will qualify for the awarding of POST credit.

 

Psychology
The Institute for Continuing Education is an organization approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologist. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Not all session may offer CE credit for psychologists. The CE packet available on site at the Conference CE desk will indicate those sessions approved for psychologists. Legal
California State Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit is pending approval. An application will be made to the State Bar of California for approval of appropriate Conference workshops for continuing legal education (CLE) credits. Each state has its own rules regarding MCLE credit, please refer to your State Bar for information about transferring credits to your jurisdiction. If your state requires an event application fee, you will be responsible for covering the application fee and the CLE fee for this event will be waived.
